There is not new 'class' of ‘Irresponsibles’, this is just the latest iteration of Capitalist Values—like individualism and selfishness. They have been around since the founding of the U.S. through genocide of the Indigenous people to take their land and the enslavement of African people to steal their labor. The U. S. is a Settler Colonial state founded on principles of White Supremacy, which is still killing and incarerating black men like George Floyd every day. Pride in this? There can be no pride in this country until it undergoes a revolution in values. MLK, Jr. issued a call in his Beyond Vietnam speech: "We, as a nation, must undergo a radical revolution of values". We must confront Capitalist values of greed, individualism, competion and Patriarchy with Indigenous/Communalist values of sharing, community cooperation and gender equality. Here are two resources to help begin this decolonizeiong process: https://robertomendoza.medium.com/indigenous-vs-capitalist-values-f5068c7e7fa6

and: symbiosis-revolution.org

Two places that have created societies based on these values are: Rojava in Syrian Kurdistan and the Zapatista Carocoles in Chiapas, Mexico.

Thinkers who have expounded on these needed changes are Murray Bookchin and Abdullah Ocalan, A good introduction to these ideas is a ROAR magazine article by Eleanor Finley - Reason, Creativity and Freedom: the Communalist Model https://roarmag.org/essays/communalism-bookchin-direct-democracy/
