The Opening Shot in the Developing Civil War

As I predicted — there would be violence around the election, no matter who wins. The attempted assassination of Trump is the first shot. As someone stated, “Violence is American as apple pie”.

This country was founded on genocide of my people and more violence toward Blacks thru: slavery, lynching, race massacres (the worst happened here in Tulsa in 1921) and police killings of Black men in minor traffic stops. MAGA, QANON, and Trump himself have glorified violence against their ‘enemies’.

As MLK said in a speech, “We, as a nation, must undergo a radical revolution of values”, in his Beyond Vietnam speech. From the violent values of Capitalism: greed, disrespect for the Natural World , genocidal imperialistic wars in Vietnam and Iraq, (including complicity in the extreme violence of the Gaza war).

Indigenous values know that happiness is based on good relationships, not just with humans, but with animals, plants, and all living things. Capitalist values of greed, individualism, and materialism created Industrialization, colonization, resource wars, extreme ecological and economic inequality. But even now, the capitalist corporations are not even willing to stop producing the fossil fuels that cause climate change, but make them billions in profits.
